From registration to podium – everything in one browser tab. No expensive hardware, no software to install, no paper chaos.
View on GitHub →perp.de covers a rowing regatta from start to finish – and everyone involved works simultaneously from their own device.
Import entries or add them manually, assign lanes, print start lists. Re-imports from the German rowing federation (DRV) portal are possible at any time without overwriting existing data.
Manage planned start times and display the race programme as a visual timeline. Time blocks can be shifted flexibly – the schedule stays current at all times.
Manual entry on a phone or tablet – optionally triggered by an affordable Bluetooth button. Or fully automated via the camera system, which can be deployed at the finish line and at any intermediate point along the course.
As soon as a result is entered, everyone sees it: officials, club representatives, and the TV display at the finish line – no extra steps required.
The companion module perp_finish_cam produces precise slit images for finish-line evaluation. It requires a USB camera with a telephoto lens – no professional gear, but a tele is needed – and runs on any standard laptop. Optional AI-based bow detection is available.
Multiple display modes (current start, last race, winner, info slides) – controlled from the announcer's station. Fonts and colors freely configurable.
Start lists, result sheets, and race programmes can be printed directly from the browser – with a clean layout, automatic headers and footers on every page, and correct page breaks. No separate print application needed.
Every club gets a private link to view their own entries, starts, and results – no account needed, works on any device.
What the software includes.
Most regattas today still rely on a mix of proprietary hardware, spreadsheets, and paper. perp.de takes a different approach.
Instead of timing systems costing thousands of euros, a phone or tablet in the browser is enough – with an affordable Bluetooth button as the trigger. The slit camera system only needs a standard laptop and a USB camera with a telephoto lens.
Timekeepers, clerks, officials, and announcers all work in the same system at the same time. No slips of paper, no waiting for the printout from the next table.
Imports from the DRV entry system can be repeated as often as needed – late corrections from the federation land automatically in the system without overwriting anything already entered.
If you have a browser, you can participate. No installation headaches on race morning, no Windows-only software.
The system was built for large regattas and proven at that level – but works just as reliably for small club events.
